Art Programs
The Vichy Arts Curriculum commits to provinding a well rounded education for all of our children. Parent Club money and energy fill in the gaps of our classic educational program. Art is an important element to our development as well rounded citizens, and parent volunteers make it happen!
The Artist in Residence Program brings working artists from our community into the classroom for specific projects. The choice of artist and scheduling are managed by our Parent Clubs and/or classroom volunteers. Dance, movement, creamics, puppetry, cartooning, plus many other artists have brought exciting "hands-on" projects to our children.
Arts Attack (the registered trademark for a purchased program) is a series of Art Lesson Plans organized by grade level. Binders and video tapes are housed in our school's Library Media Center for easy access. Art supplies are centrally located in Room "E". Specific skill lesson objectives are taught through a variety of medium by parent volunteers and teachers. Written lesson plans, with accompanying video tape examples build on a series of art concepts. Each grade level is exposed to several historic artists through project-based activities. The Arts Attack lesson plans are clear and easy to follow.
